Joe Ann "Ms. PJ" Payne was born in Brooklyn, NY. She was born to the Late Jessie Mae Payne-Williamson and the late Melvin Davis of Harlem, NY. She departed this life on August 18, 2023 at The Medical Center in Macon, Georgia Joe Ann was educated in the New York City Public School System. She last attended Sarah J. Hale High School. She volunteered at P.S. 156 in Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY. She later migrated to New Jersey & Georgia. During her years of employment in Georgia, Joe Ann worked as a Crossing Guard for the Rosa Taylor Elementary School. She also worked as a Cafeteria Aide for Mckibben Lane Elementary School. Joe Ann's love for community led to her becoming a volunteer for various organizations and people. Most cherished was the office of Mayor Jack Ellis. She was also a member of Mt. Olive Church, in Macon Georgia. She had a great love for life, music and people. She will truly be missed by so many. Joe Ann is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Melvin Payne, Charles Payne, Robert Lee Williamson Jr. and two grandchildren: Armani Troutman and Ga'Mirica Williams and Her Sister-Friend: Anita Harris. Joe Ann leaves to cherish her memories: Two sons: Alvin (Tamica) Payne; Abdul Isaac and Three daughters: Regina (Timothy) Payne-Boyd; I'sha (Jarvis) Arline; and Mekka Harrison. Grandchildren: Tyra, Shaun and James, Jonathan, Naomi, Sapphira, David Stephen, Harris, Jaelin, Jacovey, Jeremiah, Jadora, Javier, Demonta, Antynazia and Major. Great Grandchildren: Kyrie, Kira, Trinity, Solomon, Ezekiel, Demoni, Journee and Unborn daughter of Antynazia, Brother: Ray Payne; Sisters: Doris Payne, Jessie Mae Williamson and her beloved Sister-Friend, Grace Marshall. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
