Willie "Bobby" Jenkins answered the call of the Lord on September 6, 2023. He came into this world on June 1, 1940, born to the late Edgar Larkin Jenkins and Fannie Cora Acey Jenkins. Early in his life, he dedicated himself to the Lord and became a member of Powell Church. He received his education within the Talbotton County School system in Georgia.
Throughout his working life, he was a dedicated employee at Burgess & Flooring, eventually retiring after years of service.
He found immense joy in music and singing, nurtured by the constant presence of his mother, whose voice was a melodious inspiration. Overtime, he honed his singing talents and became a valued member of various quartet groups, including the Sermon Gospel Singers, Mighty Zion Trumpets, and Bob Jenkins & the Seven Great Wonders.
Before his passing, Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Jenkins; four brothers; two sisters, and one granddaughter.
He leaves a cherished legacy in the hearts of his children, Sheree Jenkins Morgan, Sheila Jenkins, Maurice Jenkins, Alfreda (Gerald) Nicholson, Kendall (Tamblyn) Green, Manike Davis, Shenita (Lester) Williams, Shekelia Murphy and her significant other, Olaf, as well as 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Chandra Malcolm, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry his memory forward.
