Willie Lewis Glover, affectionately known as Junior and June to many, was a beloved husband, Daddy, Big Daddy, Great Big Daddy, brother, uncle, and friend. He gained his wings on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
He was born in Jeffersonville, Georgia on October 12, 1935, to the parentage of Lewis and Ida Hicks Glover. He was the oldest of 10 children: the late Henry (Jeanette) Glover, the late Geneva Glover, and the late Eloise Curry; Robert Lee Glover, Louise (William) Bond, Rosa Mae (Lucious) Hogges, Earnest (Ella) Glover, Burnest (Sonja) Glover and Linda (Tommie) Basley.
He is survived by his sisters-in-law Roberta Bloodworth, Beatrice Finkley and Arnedia (Frank) Glover, and brother-in-law Tommy (Lorraine) Glover.
Willie Lewis received his education with the Twiggs County School District and at an early age joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He worked at the Box Factory and retired from J.M. Huber in 1991 after 25 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Senior and Male Chorus of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
He was married to Josephine Glover for 61 years and to this union six children were born. He is survived by his wife and all his children: Karen Felecia King, Wilkie Lawrence Glover, Gailyn (Steven) Knight, Katrina (Adrian) Ashley, Shea Tonya Glover-Sherman, Dana (Reginald) Henderson and Vorya Gross.
He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren: Asia Ashley (Jordan) Sheffield, Adrian Ashley, IV, Sade Winchester, Destinie Henderson, Jaquize Johnson, Chelsea Ashley, Ivori Gross, Jordan Harris, Emory Gross, III, Cameron Sherman, and Rieleigh Henderson; seven great-grandchildren Jeremiah, Josiah, Alivia, Aiden, Bridget, Amir and Semaj; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He truly enjoyed his family and loved story telling about the family history. Willie Lewis never met a stranger. His warm spirit, bright smile and sense of humor will truly be missed.
