Mr. William Lorenzo "Ren" Goolsby was born August 14, 1957, to Mrs. Hazel Goolsby and the late Mr. William Goolsby. He was the maternal grandson to the late Willie and Annie Mae Mims of Jeffersonville, GA. Ren was the paternal grandson to the late Odessa Marsh and Otis Goolsby of Gray, GA.
Ren was educated in Bibb County Public Schools, and graduated from Lanier High School in 1975. He later enlisted in the United States Navy.
Affectionately known as "Ren", he was very easy-going and soft-spoken. He had a great passion for research, working with computers, and a great love for sports, especially football.
Ren leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted and dedicated nephew, Ashton William Young, mother, Hazel Goolsby, and aunts: Cora Simmons, Annie (Thomas) Jones, Rosa (Virgil) Watkins, Yvette Mahone, Deborah (Chester) Simmons, Renee (Leonard) Pless, two uncles, Ronnie Mahone and Alphonso Mahone, both in Philadelphia, PA, and a host of family and loved ones.
Ren was preceded in death by his father, William Goolsby, and his sister, Cherlyn Goolsby-Young, and four aunts: Mary Mitchell, Irene Kemp, Gloristeen Harris, and Mynion Hubbard.
May the loving memories of William Lorenzo "Ren" Goolsby - a son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, bring peace to all who knew him.
