Virginia Burke Obituary

irginia Burke, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and faithful servant of God, peacefully entered eternal rest on July 6, 2026. She was born on September 17, 1943, to the late Willie Delia Reaves and the late Foster Burke. Whether offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or words of encouragement, Virginia was deeply loved and respected by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Virginia was a dedicated and hardworking woman who took great pride in providing for her family. She worked as a skilled seamstress for Happ's Manufacturing and Carter's in Sandersville, Georgia, where her exceptional craftsmanship and strong work ethic earned the admiration of her coworkers. She later continued her career with Boeing Aircraft in Macon, Georgia, retiring after years of faithful and dependable service.

A devoted follower of Christ, Virginia faithfully served as a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was actively involved in the Missionary Ministry, the Esteem Ministry, better known as the Pastor's Aide Ministry, and the Senior Citizens Ministry. Her love for the Lord was evident in her daily walk, her willingness to serve, and the kindness she extended to others

Family was the center of Virginia's life, and she cherished every moment spent with those she loved. She was a nurturing and devoted mother whose unconditional love, wisdom, and guidance shaped generations of her family.  Her legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her family will continue to live on through each life she touched.

Virginia was preceded in death by her siblings, Charlie Frank Burke, Ellen Burke, Louis Wynn, and Catherine Daniel.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving children: Denita (Willie) Scott of Jonesboro, Georgia, Clarissa Biggins, Tamara Burke, Tina Burke, and Donald Burke all of Macon, Georgia; siblings, Mildred Dixon of Tennille,  Georgia, Mary Julia Brown of Macon, Georgia, Gloria Weems of Ocala, Florida, Julius Brown of Tennille, Georgia, and Nathaniel Watson, Jr. of New York; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by her love. Although she will be greatly missed, her beautiful legacy of faith, love, kindness, and service will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
