Stanley Eugene Brooks was born January 24, 1959, in Macon, Georgia to the parentage of Juanita Cunningham and Rufus Brooks. He accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Stinsonville Baptist Church. Stanley received his education in the Bibb County Public School system.
After graduating from high school, Stanley enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country from 1979 to 1983. During his time in the Navy, Stan earned the rank of Petty Officer (E5). He received the Bronze Star Award, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Navy Expeditionary Medal. Stanley returned to Georgia and was later employed at Blue Bird Corporation in Fort Valley, Georgia as a multi-skilled technician for more than 25 years before his retirement.
Stanley Brooks passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Brooks, Jr. and a brother, Nicholas Cunningham.
Stanley leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, cherished by a devoted mother, Juanita Cunningham; children, Monica McCowan (Tony), Emilio Perez (Elizabeth), Nicholas Brooks, Alex Andria Judkins (Brian) and Keyuon Brooks; his siblings, Charlie Mae Clark, LuCretia Brooks-Taylor, Angie Kelley-Brooks, Rhett Cunningham, Anita Cunningham, Reginald Cunningham and Andrew Cunningham (Rhonda); sixteen grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including a devoted friend, Cosha Clark, who will continue to honor his memory.
