Mrs. Shirleuy Cordes, born as Shirley Jean Lowe, was born on July 28, 1954 in Macon, Georgia to her loving parents, the late Mr. Robert Lowe, Sr. and the late Mrs. Frances Lowe.  Affectionately known as "Blackgal", she was a woman of great warmth, kindness, generocity, and devined faith.

Mrs. Shirley attended the Bibb County Schools and was a proud Southwest alumni.  She was employed by hotel chains in the south where she worked until the early 2000's.  She was a devoted member of the Greater New Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. On Friday, July 11, 2025 at 12:35 pm, Mrs. Shirley Lowe Cordes peacefully departed this life to be reunited with GOD, surrounded by her loving and caring family members as she requested.  She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mr. Robert Lowe, Sr. and Mrs. Frances Lowe, her son  Travis Briscoe, her two brothers, Thomas Bay Green and Eddie C. Green, and her companion Willie Marshall, Sr.

Mrs. Shirley was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.   She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Mr. Harry Cordes; two daughters, Mrs. Teresa (Minister James Bradley, Jr.) and Ms. Ashley Lockhart; one step daughter, Phyllis Cordes; eight grandchildren, Jasmine Allen, Kyla Jackson Briscoe, Zaikya Lockhart, Jahniya Teasley, Travis Briscoe, Jr., Ala Lockhart, Asiana Brown and Au’Bray Lockhart; seven great grandchildren, Brandon, Bradyn, Chosen, Cherish, Khajeh, Krys and Legaci; six siblings, Mrs. Helen Posey, Mr. Robert Lowe, Jr., Mr. Charlie Lowe, Mrs. Betty Youmans, Mrs. Linda White and Ms. Delores Barnes; three special nieces, Sonya Green, Wanda Green McNeil and Brenda Rainey; one special nephew, Tim Green; two god daughters, Seletha Doston and Sharon (Johnny) Gibson; her best friend, Mrs. Ethel Taylor and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
