Ricky Taylor, Sr. Obituary

Ricky “Bubba” Lee Norris Taylor was born on June 10, 1956, in Bibb County, Georgia, to the late Precious Lee Taylor and James Taylor Sr. He entered eternal rest on December 12, 2025.

Ricky received his early education in Bibb County and proudly graduated from Southwest High School in 1975. Guided by a deep sense of duty and patriotism, he enlisted in the United States Army on February 14, 1979. Throughout his distinguished military career, Ricky served as a Communications Specialist, a role that required precision, discipline, leadership, and unwavering integrity. He also earned certification in Mechanical Engineering at Central Georgia Technical College. Through years of faithful and honorable service, he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant and retired in 1999, completing 20 years of dedicated service to his country.

Ricky was a man of strong character, steady, disciplined, and dependable. Known to many as a gentle giant, he carried himself with quiet strength, humility, and honor. His military values shaped every area of his life: loyalty to family, commitment to service, respect for others, and a deep sense of responsibility. Outside of uniform, Ricky had a true passion for cars, taking pride in their craftsmanship, performance, and care, often finding peace and joy working on or admiring them.

In 1983, Ricky united in holy matrimony with Beverly Little Taylor, his confidant, and lifelong friend. Their union was blessed with three sons: Keith Jerod Little, Ricky “Little T” Lee Norris Taylor, Rico Bernard Taylor, one daughter-in-law Alyssa Little, and one grand-daughter-in-law Alexandria Cleveland. Ricky was a firm yet loving father who led by example, instilling discipline, respect, and faith in his sons.

A man anchored in faith, Ricky was a faithful member of Becoming Sight for a Perfect Future Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Louise Little, where he served dutifully as an usher. He believed in order, service, and reverence in the house of God, offering the same excellence in church that he did in military service.

Ricky’s greatest pride and daily joy were his grandchildren, from his son Keith and his wife Alyssa, Jayden, also with mother of his children Maylene, Keith “Little Keith”, Jerod, Aaliyah, and Grace. From his son Ricky and mother of his children Kimberly Wright, Trinity and Tristan Taylor. His great grandchildren, Keith “Little Keith” and his wife Alexandria, Aayden Cleveland and Aamirah Little. He cherished each moment with them, leaving a legacy of love, discipline, humility, wisdom, and strength.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved family Keith and his daughter-in-law Alyssa Little, Ricky (Lil Tee), and Rico; his siblings James Taylor, Brenda Nelson, Calvin Taylor, Sandra Owens, Gary Taylor and Beverly Pines; and his eldest sister, the late Bernice Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, fellow servicemen, church family, and dear friends.
