Richard Rhymes

Richard Rhymes was born on August 4, 1939 to the parentage of the late Charlie Gray and Amanda Austin Rhymes.

He attended Pleasant Grove School in Lizella, Georgia.  Richard started working at an early age, and was a hardworking man that loved his family.  He was employed with Norfolk Southern for thirty years prior to his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethelyn Stephens-Rhymes; one brother, Sammy Rhymes and two sisters, Helen Rhymes and Beatrice Rhymes.

Richard leaves to cherish his memories his dedicated and loving daughter, Angela Stephens (Freddie) Vickers; one son, Larry Stephens; grandchildren, Brandon Stephens, Tjaumaunee Stephens, Amesha Sandifer, Kenneth Sandifer, Jr., Larry Stephens, Jr. and Rosietta Stephens; one great granddaughter, Ja’lyrica Scott; a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
