Ms. Regina Michelle Hawkins, aged fifty-eight, departed this life on Monday, December 9, 2024, to begin her everlasting journey with God the Father. Born on September 16, 1966, in Petersburg, Virginia, Regina was the cherished daughter of Mrs. Queen A. Hawkins Blowe and Mr. John E. Hawkins Jr. She was lovingly raised and guided by Mr. Matthew E. Blowe (father), who became a steadfast source of support and wisdom until his passing in 2013..
A proud graduate of Petersburg High School, Regina went on to attend Norfolk State University. She earned her licensure as a Master Cosmetologist. She excelled in her craft for several years, known for her work ethic, dedication, and the confidence she instilled in her clients. Later, Regina found her calling in the healthcare field, serving as a Direct Support Professional (DPS) for individuals with developmental disabilities. With an advanced certification as a DPS3, she made an indelible impact on countless lives through her compassionate care and unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life for others. Her work was a testament to her selfless nature and her passion for uplifting others.
Regina had a profound ability to touch hearts through her hobbies and passions. She was a gifted poet whose words brought comfort and inspiration to many. Her love for singing showcased her vibrant spirit, often filling the room with joy and positivity. Whether she was sharing a heartfelt poem or belting out a soulful melody, Regina kept it real with a direct line of communication.
Above all, Regina was deeply devoted to her family. She will be remembered by her caring, loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Queen A. Blowe; she cherished her role as a loving mother to her son, Mr. Leonardo D. Hawkins; sister, Shelia Hawkins Moore, and her brothers, Connie L. Hawkins and Eddie L. Hawkins, as well as her brother-in-law, Emil G. Moore. Her extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also benefited from her boundless love, support, and encouragement. Regina’s warm smile, genuine hugs, and open heart brought comfort to all who crossed her path. She will be deeply missed but remembered with endless love.
