Ramona Jo Brown
Born on April 5th, 1968 to the late Lee James and Essie Mae Brown, she was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and mother who touched countless lives with her radiant smile, generous spirit, and unwavering faith. From a young age, Ramona had an unbreakable spirit, an inspiring determination, and a compassionate heart that made her a light to everyone around her. She grew up in Macon where she was known for her kindness, laughter, and the joy she brought to every room she entered.
Ramona was a graduate of Southwest High School and she went on to pursue a fulfilling career in Cosmetology. Her dedication, work ethic, and love for her profession left an indelible mark on those she worked with.
Outside of her career, Ramona was deeply involved with her family and community, where she dedicated much of her time to uplifting others. She was also a poll worker for the Board of Elections and her love for helping people was evident in everything she did. Friends and family often recall her contagious laughter, gentle wisdom, and the countless ways she showed up for others in their times of need.
Above all, Ramona, cherished her family. She was a devoted mother to Shanequa Brown. Natovian Mitchell and Jameson Brown, who were the light of her life, and she shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings, Marvin (Catherine) Brown, Patricia (Eddie) Brown, Joyce Brown, Shelton (Nancy) Brown, Sr., Valda Thomas, Wanda Gail Deshazier, Claudia Watkins, Sharon Brown, and Shelia Brown, five grandchildren, Tierra Roberts, Jaylen Roberts, Gabrielle Roberts, Amora Roberts and Zymeria Mitchell and a host close family members, and special friends. Her family meant everything to her, and her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion lives on in them.
