Phelisha Ann Waller was born on November 1, 1958, to the late Berofus and Annie (McEvoy) Waller. She grew up in a loving home where family and community were at the heart of her upbringing. She graduated from Southwest High School in 1976 and went on to build a meaningful life filled with kindness, generosity, and cherished relationships. Phelisha departed this life at Atrium Health Navicent Hospital in Macon, Georgia, on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Though she is no longer physically present, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Phelisha was a dedicated worker, retiring from the City of Detroit, Michigan, after 30 years of service. She was baptized early in life and remained a devoted servant of Jehovah God. She had a deep love for her family and friends, always making time to create joyful moments with them. She especially enjoyed family cookouts and fun gatherings, where laughter and love were abundant. Her warmth and welcoming nature made every gathering special, and her presence brought people together in the best way.
One of Phelisha's greatest joys was reminiscing about her childhood. She loved to share stories of simpler times—playing in front of the family house, enjoying carefree days, and embracing the innocence of youth. Her memories were a treasured part of her, and she found comfort in reliving those precious moments with her loved ones. These stories, filled with humor and nostalgia, will be missed but forever cherished.
Cooking was another way Phelisha expressed her love. She took great pride in preparing meals, and her specialty was a delicious stir-fry made from a secret recipe only she knew. Her dishes were more than just food; they were an expression of love, a way to bring everyone together around the table. She delighted in watching her family and friends enjoy the meals she prepared, knowing that her cooking created lasting bonds and happy memories.
She is survived by her sister/cousin, Charlotte M. Grable; two brothers, Bobbie L. Waller, Dewayne (Tammy) Waller of Macon, Georgia; dedicated cousins, Tony (Karen) Grable of Macon, Georgia; dedicated cousins, Tony (Karen) Grable of Byron, Georgia and Reginald (Genise) Grable of Warner Robins, Georgia; one nephew, Maurice Waters of Milledgeville, Georgia; one niece, Lashannon Waters of Macon, Georgia and a special host of beloved cousins, family and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
