Peter Walter Johnson, son of the late Rupert Johnson and Wilhelmina Johnson, was born on September 12, 1948, in Florence, SC and peacefully transitioned on February 17, 2026.
He is a graduate of West Fulton High School in Atlanta, Ga. After graduating from high school he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, where he fought in the Vietnam War.
Pete or PW, as he was affectionately called, spent many years on the showroom floors of top furniture companies, serving the community.
He lived a life filled with fun and adventure in the great outdoors. He loved fishing day or night, on land or in a boat. He also had a love for cooking, baking, grilling, eating, movies, music and the Atlanta Falcons. He was preceded in death by - his parents, brother, Roland Perrin Jr. and sister, Bertha Mae Haynes. He leaves to cherish three beautiful daughters: Tonya (Ben) Gaither, of Locust Grove, GA, Deidra (Defrange) Leary, of Warner Robins, GA, and Erica Johnson of Macon, GA; four granddaughters, Zavrae Johnson of Locust Grove, GA, Zamaria Davis of Iwakuni, Japan; Sydney and Kyndall Phillips both of Macon, GA; and 1 great-granddaughter, Carly Johnson of Macon, GA. Sister, Marie Griffin (Fayetteville), brother, John Moore (Doris) Columbia, SC, brother, William Johnson (Corlis) Atlanta, GA, and brother, Henry Johnson (Connie) Stockbridge, GA. A devoted nephew, Davie Griffin, and a host of relatives and friends.
