On March 4, 1971, the Lord began writing the beautiful book of life for Peggy Lee Denmark. She was born to the proud parents, Reverend James D. Denmark and Annie C. Denmark, in the Unionville Community of Macon, Georgia. From the very first chapter, Peggy’s life reflected love, faith, and purpose. She was educated in the local school system, beginning at Matilda Hartley Elementary School and later graduating from Southeast High School. Peggy’s journey was one filled with warmth and kindness, and she was deeply loved by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
As the pages of her life continued to turn, Peggy’s love for God remained the center of her story. At an early age, she joined Torrance Chapel Baptist Church in Baldwin County under the leadership of her father, where her spiritual foundation was nurtured and strengthened. Peggy found joy in life’s simple pleasures—she loved music that lifted her spirit and dancing that expressed her joy. She had a heart full of love, and she freely shared it with her family and friends. Her presence brought light, laughter, and comfort, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
On April 16, 2026, the Lord gently closed the final chapter of Peggy’s earthly story and called her home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Denmark; father, Reverend James Denmark; sisters, Sallie Denmark Griffin and Gussie Mae Denmark and brothers, Jessie Denmark, Larry Denmark, Daniel Denmark, Freddie Denmark and Pastor Willie Denmark.
She leaves to mourn her devoted sisters, Margaret Denmark, Christine Finnel, Mary Poole and Tammy (Willie) Jones; brothers, Johnny B. Denmark, William P. Denmark and Deacon Brian Denmark; her god brother, Deacon Marvin Bryant and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Though her book on earth has ended, her legacy of love, faith, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Peggy’s life was a testament to a story well written by God—a story of devotion, compassion, and unwavering faith that will never be forgotten.
