Milton Goolsby was born on July 4, 1939, in Juliette, GA, and departed this life on January 11, 2025. He will forever be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him and the love he shared with family and friends.
Milton was known for his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. For many years, he was self-employed, showcasing his resourcefulness and determination. Later in life, he worked with the J.D. Gordon Lodging Company, where he was respected for his dedication and reliability.
In his leisure time, Milton found happiness in the simple joys of life. He loved watching cowboy shows and wrestling, immersing himself in the adventurous and spirited worlds they offered. These hobbies were a source of relaxation and entertainment, providing him with countless moments of enjoyment. He also had a deep appreciation for good food, with fried fish and rice being among his favorite meals, often followed by a satisfying bowl of chocolate ice cream. These little pleasures brought a sparkle to his days and reflected his ability to savor life’s offerings.
Milton’s sense of humor and warm smile were his trademarks. He had an uncanny ability to lift the spirits of those around him with his quick wit and infectious laughter. Whether sharing a funny story or offering a comforting word, Milton’s presence was a balm to the soul. People gravitated toward him for his light-hearted nature and genuine kindness, and his company was always cherished. He was a man who truly understood the value of spreading joy and being a positive force in the lives of others.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Milton was preceded in death by nine brothers and three sisters but is survived by his brother, John (Mary) Goolsby of Juliette, GA.
Milton leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 56 years, Carrie Goolsby; his daughter, Judy (Pat) Ross; his son, Eric Goolsby; grandchildren, Shakierra Ellis, Octavious Pearson, Johnitia Goolsby, and Eric Goolsby Jr.; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. His family and friends will miss him deeply but will find comfort in the countless moments they shared and the love he so generously gave.
