Mr. Melvin Slaughter, Jr. was born in Macon, Georgia to the parentage of the late Melvin Slaughter, Sr. and Mary Williams.
He attended Bibb County Public Schools. Melvin graduated from Southwest High School class of 1980. He loved his days in high school playing in the marching band. He became one of Southwest's greatest of all times (GOAT) drum majors.
Melvin was loving and caring. Over the course of his life, he was known for his big personality, loud laugh, "slau" dog stump, and overall being the life of the party. He loved music and was ready to give a lesson at any given time. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Melvin was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Slaughter and siblings.
