Melissa Latrell Smith, daughter of Robert Hugely and the late Bertha Mae Little, was born on June 29, 1972, in Macon, Georgia where she resided until her sunset on February 10, 2025. Melissa attended school in Bibb County and was a proud graduate of Central High School. She was a dedicated employee of the Bibb County School District, where she served in various capacities throughout her career. Melissa was a cherished mother, sister, daughter, and friend whose kindness and strength touched all who knew her.
Melissa leaves behind a loving family, including her children: Symone Sanders, Dantellya Sanders, and D'Quinton Smith, and her grandson, Kai Allison. She was a devoted sister to Charlene Smith and shared a special bond with her god-sisters, Nita Gordon and Cheassie Walden. Melissa was also deeply loved by a host of uncles, aunts, nieces nephews, extended family and friends.
