Her Journey
Melinda Faye Bason was born January 13, 1972 in Macon, Georgia to the parentage of Curtis Bason and Bobbie Sallette Bason Cornelius.
Melinda was educated in the Bibb County School System.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the usher board, song in the choir and was a member of the youth ministry.
She worked briefly at Hardee's Restaurant LLC.
Melinda was a loving daughter, mother, sister, auntie and friend. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Her passions were singing and entertaining. She always had a joke ready for every occasion and would have you cracking your up.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jarvis J. Bason. Melinda earthly journey was completed on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Melinda leaves to cherish her precious memories, her mother, Bobbie Sallette Bason Cornelius; father, Curtis (Beverly) Bason, Sr.; daughter, Rakia F. Parker; son Jasper I. Curry;, four sisters, Kimberly Sallette, Camela (Charles) Henderson, Shannon Phillip and Tukuanda Lewis; three brothers, Derrick Sallette, Curtis (Lakyva) Bason, Jr. and Nicholas Hargrove, Sr., uncle, Freddie Sallette; aunts, Estella Sallette, Gloria Rhynes, Brenda Royal, Eloise Clark and Lavern Taylor; five grandchildren; a devoted stepmother, Luvenia (Roberts) Saddler; a loving friend, Octavia (Deon) Allen; a host of nieces, nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends who will miss her dearly.
