Maxine Mitchell

Maxine Jones Mitchell was born August 29, 1948 to parentage of the late J.C. Jones and the late Louisa Williams Jones.

Maxine was educated in the Public Schools of Bibb County and attended Macon Area Vocational Technical School.

Maxine met and married the love of her life Eddie Frank Mitchell.  To this blessed union two sons were born, Jimmy Clarence Mitchell and Eddie Frank Mitchell, Jr.

Maxine was a faithful and dedicated employee of Brown and Williamson until her retirement.

Maxine loved people, always helping and giving of self with a smile.  Traveling, especially taking cruises, became her hobby.  She was a faithful and devoted member of Bibb Mt Zion Baptist Church, serving on the Deaconess Board.

Maxine Jones Mitchell transitioned to her Heavenly home on Monday, October 20, 2025.  She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Mitchell as of January 2024.

Maxine leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband, Eddie Frank and a loving son, Eddie Frank Mitchell, Jr.; two sisters, Leila Rhynes and Barbara Avery; granddaughter, Jada Mitchell; grandson, Justin Smith; great grandsons, Justin Smith II, Jamari Mitchell, Javian Mitchell; great granddaughter, Jaleah Dunn and a host of other relatives and friends.
