MOTHER PEARL JONES - A LIFE OF LOVE AND LEGACY
Mattie Pearl Jones was born on November 24, 1921, to the parentage of Jesse and Mary Watson in Roberta, Georgia. She received her education through the Crawford County school system. At an early age, Mattie Pearl accepted Christ and began a lifelong journey of faith. She became a devoted member of Springhill Baptist Church for more than 88 years, where she served faithfully in various ministry roles.
In her professional life, Mattie Pearl was a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a career she pursued with dedication for many years until her retirement. Beyond her work and church service, she was an active and proud member of the Eastern Stars, exemplifying her commitment to community and sisterhood.
Mattic Pearl was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Jones, and her daughter, Myglectus Y. Reid. Despite these losses, her legacy continues to shine through the lives she touched and the family she nurtured.
She leaves behind cherished memories with her stepdaughter, Cleonia Bentley, and four grandchildren: Sharon Glover; Samuel Cristy) Reid, Kevin (Sonya Reid, and Jakki Reid. A very dedicated niece, Gladys Wilson, also holds her memory dear. In addition, Mattic Pearl leaves a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, beloved relatives, and friends who will forever treasure her love, wisdom, and kindness.
