Matilda Walker was born on July 11, 1937, in Dames Ferry, GA, to Charlie Lee Clark and Mahalie Carson Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, siblings, and husband, Benjamin Franklin Walker Sr.
Matilda graduated from Henderson High School in Jackson, GA, and worked at Macon Hospital in the Central Service Department for 42 years. After retiring, she returned as a Clinical Observer and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
A woman of deep faith, Matilda was baptized at an early age and later became a devoted member of New Home Baptist Church, where she served in the choir and on the Mother Board. She was also a member of the Love of God Singers.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and service cherished by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
