Born on September 24, 1989, Mario Marquez Clark was the cherished son of the late Deloris W. Clark and Gregory Freeman. His life reflected strength, love, laughter, and generosity. Mario departed this earth on June 15, 2025. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He attended Hamilton Elementary School, Ballard Hudson Middle School, and Central High School.
A true people person, Mario was known for his infectious laugh, his endless supply of jokes, and his unmatched ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face. He loved playing basketball and spending quality time with family and friends. Always the first to lend a helping hand, Mario would go above and beyond for those in need, whether it was through words of encouragement or simple acts of kindness.
One thing that will never be forgotten is his signature phrase, “I stamp that.” He said it often, and it always brought a sense of finality, pride, and humor to any conversation. It has now become a part of his legacy, one we will carry with us forever.
Mario was deeply loved, and he gave that love freely to those around him. He had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the light he brought into our lives.
He leaves behind four loving children: Kendre Jackson, Mario Clark Jr., Zamiya Clark, and Jasnai Clark, whom he adored beyond measure. Mario was a devoted father who spoke often and proudly of his children; his greatest joy and accomplishment.
Mario is also survived by his siblings: Lashana Bonner, Shakeitha Freeman, and Jameal Harris and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. To them, he was not only a brother but a source of laughter, encouragement, and devoted love.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may we continue to honor him by loving deeply, living fully, and remembering his words:
“I stamp that.”
