Marietta Wilson, surrounded by family and close friends, peacefully entered eternal rest on April 30, 2026. Marietta awoke in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May her life, tribute, and testimony continue to be a witness of God’s free grace in Christ.
Marietta Wilson, affectionately known by family and friends as “Pankey,” was born on November 9, 1952, in Macon to the late Ben Wilson and Leonstine Scott. She grew up in the historic Tybee community in South Macon and was a proud graduate of Bibb Technical School in 1972.
Marietta was employed with Walmart for many years, where her warm and caring spirit touched the lives of many. She loved spending time talking with her friends and sisters. She possessed a magnetic personality that drew people of all ages to her. Marietta found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved listening to "Dear Mama" by Tupac Shakur, enjoyed watching Investigation Discovery, treasured family gatherings, and looked forward to vacationing in Florida each year.
At an early age, Marietta accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She faithfully attended New Bethel Baptist Church for many years.
Marietta was preceded in death by her parents, Ben Wilson and Leonstine Scott; daughter, Rita Wilson; brother, Charles J. Scott, and her sister, Donnezetta Pitts.
She leaves to cherish and honor her precious memory: her daughter, Sabrena Wilson; son, Deonta R. Wilson (LaShondra Thomas); grandson, Deonta “Ben” Wilson all of Macon; two sisters, Lueretta Smith of Fort Lauderdale and Rosetta Morris of Warner Robins; a devoted niece, Tina Wilson, along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
Though she will be deeply missed, Marietta’s love, laughter, and caring spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
