Mrs. Margaret Reeves Howard was born on December 4, 1930, to the late J.C. Reeves, Sr. and Hattie Raines Reeves in Crawford County, Georgia. At an early age, she joined Olive Grove Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful and devoted member throughout her life. Her deep faith and commitment to her church family were evident in her participation in various church activities and her willingness to help others in need.
On May 9, 1947, she married the love of her life, the late James Howard. Their union was blessed with five children, and together they built a loving and nurturing home. Margaret was not only a dedicated wife but also a caring and devoted mother who cherished every moment spent with her family.
Margaret’s love for her family extended far beyond her immediate household. A woman of great faith and dedication, Margaret’s life was a testament to the values of compassion, humility, and service. Her involvement in Olive Grove Baptist Church was a cornerstone of her life.
Mrs. Margaret Reeves Howard departed this life on December 31, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Myrtice Howard. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew her.
She was a pillar of strength and a source of unconditional love to her children, Barbara Colbert of Culloden, Georgia; Carolyn Samples (Chester) of Macon, Georgia; Bevvlon Willis and Evelyn Smith (Horace) of Roberta, Georgia. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on through her nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She will be deeply missed by her surviving family, two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Reeves of Michigan and Lorace Howard of Roberta, Georgia, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Her unwavering love, warm spirit, and gentle kindness will be forever remembered, shared and treasured by all who were blessed to know her.
