On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Lucy “Lee” Miller made her final transition. Born on October 22, 1939, in Bolingbroke, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Albert Fields and Willie Mae Howard Fields.
Lucy was united in marriage to Samuel Miller with whom she shared more than 50 years of love and companionship until his passing in 2014. Their union was a testament to devotion, strength, and enduring partnership.
A devoted and longstanding member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Lucy lived her faith with grace and consistency. Family and friends lovingly called her Lee, a name that reflected the warmth, familiarity, and kindness she extended to all who knew her.
Lucy is survived by one brother, Roosevelt Fields, and was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Ella McGill, Albert Howard, Mary Howard, William Fields, Ida Fambro, Willie S. Fields, Charles Fields, Albert Fields, and Ralph Fields.
She is survived by her three devoted children — Marques Miller, Cheryl Miller Sims (Charles), and Samuel Miller — who will forever carry her love and teachings in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her dear son, Bernard Miller, who now welcomes her home with peace and joy.
Lucy is also survived by eight grandchildren — Undra Thomas, Undria Thomas, Brittany Miller, Monica Raines, Everson Raines, Brittney Harris, Cydney Miller, Kaiah Miller — and was preceded in death by one grandchild, Marques (Mark) Miller, who held a special place in her heart. She leaves several cherished great-grandchildren, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
