Lucious "Bubba" Matthews (Luke), a beloved member of the Macon community, passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on December 17, 1956, in Thomaston, Georgia, he was known for his warm smile, engaging personality, and positive attitude.
Lucious, affectionately known as Bubba or Luke to his friends and family, was a caring soul who always put others before himself. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Grace Matthews and Lucious Drake, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the afterlife.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving kids, family members, friends, and many others who will forever hold him close in their hearts. Lucious was born in Thomaston Georgia and spent time growing up in Atlanta Georgia, He graduated from Waynesville High School in Waynesville Missouri. Throughout his life, Lucious pursued his passion for Engineering when he joined the Army. Lucious completed his honest and faithful service departing as an Equipment Operator and retired disabled veteran. Lucious then settled in
Macon, Georgia where he lived the remainder of his life surrounded by unconditioned love support and care. his dedication his service and his country impacted those around him. His career was marked by dedication and hard work, inspiring others to strive for their success.
In his free time, Lucious enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing with his kids, traveling, and cheering on his favorite football team. His hobbies and interests brought joy to those who knew him, creating lifelong memories and bonds that will never be forgotten.
Lucious had a generous spirit and always lent a helping hand to those in need. His contributions to his community were numerous, and his kindness and compassion touched the lives of those who knew him.
Those who knew Lucious will remember him for his sense of humor, his dedication to fatherhood, and his ability to light up a room with his smile. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
