Lucinda Adaline Wright, affectionately known as “Cindy,” was born on August 13, 1963, in Macon, Georgia to the parentage of Marshall Wright and Martha Fuller Wright.
From the moment she arrived, Lucinda would defy odds and make her mark in this world on her own terms.
She matriculated through the Bibb County Public School System, starting at Maude C. Pye Elementary School before transferring to Matilda Hartley Elementary, where she first displayed leadership qualities as a member of the school newspaper and yearbook staff. She continued her education at Southwest High School, where she thrived on the Pep Club, Student Council, Yearbook Staff, Senior Superlatives, and Senior Class Leadership.
Lucinda was never a person who allowed labels or limitations to define her. She faced every obstacle that came her way and overcame each one. After graduating from Southwest High School in 1982, she continued her education at Macon Junior College, pursuing studies toward a degree in Criminal Justice, and later attended Central Georgia Technical College where she received a certificate in Medical Coding.
After completing her studies, Lucinda put her knowledge and skills to work in several administrative roles at Macon YDC, Goodwill, Disability Connections, and Star Choices. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Macon Transit Authority and Disability Connections. After retirement, Lucinda returned to volunteer at Macon YDC—because sitting still was simply not who she was.
Lucinda made her transition Saturday, January 17, 2026, with her loving daddy by her side. Her life was a testimony of defying odds and succeeding until the very end.
Lucinda loved people, and she deeply loved her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Fuller Wright; her grandparents, James Wright Sr., Ethel “Cutie Pie” Wright, Johnny Clifford Fuller, and Josephine Barfield Fuller; her special great great-aunt, Mary Henderson; and her nephew.
Lucinda’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted father, Marshall Wright; her siblings, Emma Wright, Ivey Vanessa Fuller, Mary Orange, Dexter Wright, Adrienne “Lisa” Wright Sallette (Freddie), and Latricia “Michelle” Wright. She is also survived by her aunts, Maggie Hill, Evelyn Rutland, Shirley Ann Fuller, Alice Mae Fuller Wilson, and Ella Mae Fuller; and her uncles, James L. Wright and Jeffery Wright. Lucinda leaves a legacy of love to a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She also leaves extended family in the friends who became sisters: Carol Hicks, Valerie Hicks, Felicia Mikell, and Gypsy Hicks.
Her journey was courageous, her spirit unbreakable, and her love everlasting. Though she has finished her earthly race, her light continues to shine through the many lives she touched.
