Linnie B. Dixon-Ross, affectionately known as "wee-Wee". was born August 5, 1929 to the parentage of the late Genie and Maggie Thurman in Macon, Georgia. Linnie received her early education in Lizella, Georgia at Pleasant Grove Elementary School. Later they moved to Bibb County where she furthered her education at Unionville Elementary School, and later graduated from Hudson High School.
Linnie connected with God at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend E.W. Holt. Linnie served faithfully in all duties: Usher, Choir, Mother Board. She was united in holy matrimony to Willie Fred Dixon, Sr. for 49 years and they were blessed with seven children.
"Wee-Wee" as known by her oldest grandchild Yolanda Chapman and others, did domestic work for several years for the Cranford family. As time went by she started working for the Macon Hospital which later became the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Linnie retired after 29 years of service and later joined and became active in the Older Americans Council (OAC) of Middle Georgia. Inc.
Linnie later married Jimmie Ross. A loving mother and wife, she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie and three children, Willie Fred Dixon, Jr., MacAuthur Dixon, and Joan Dixon.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Brenda Sue Chapman, Joyce Marie Lewis, Deborah Stokes and son Steven Dixon all of Macon; three sisters, Maggie Logan, Lois (Charles) Johnson, and Delores Rainey; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren; a very special cousin and friend Julie Bailey, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
