As time went by she started working for the Macon Hospital which later became the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Linnie retired after 29 years of service and later joined and became active in the Older Americans Council (OAC) of Middle Georgia. Inc.

Linnie later married Jimmie Ross. A loving mother and wife, she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie and three children, Willie Fred Dixon, Jr., MacAuthur Dixon, and Joan Dixon.
