Larry (Sweetback or “Bee Kinsey”) Daniel Morris was born October 25, 1950 in Macon, Georgia to the parentage of the late Emmett Brooks, Jr. and the late Annie Lee Morris-Boxton. He departed this life on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Cherry Blossom Nursing Facility.
He joined Greater Bellevue Baptist Church at an early age and loved attending Sunday School and Church. He was a lifelong member of Greater Bellevue Baptist Church. He was also a member of the JOY (Just Older Youth) Ministry. Larry grew up in the Bellevue Community and in his heart, there was no place like “Bellevue”.
Larry attended Minnie Butler Elementary and Ballard Hudson High School.
Larry enlisted in the United States Army in October 1969 and was released in 1971 with an Honorable Discharge. A true Army guy. Larry enjoyed traveling to see family and meeting people. He loved his family and he always strived to make them happy.
He was preceded in death by his only child, Andrea Michelle Morris.
He leaves in loving memories four (4) sisters, Sylvia (Donald) Braswell, Allene (Marvin) Gail, Brenda Brooks of Macon, Georgia and Cheryl Brooks of Atlanta, Georgia; four (4) brothers, James C. Boxton of Atlanta, Georgia, Jonathan Norwood of Perry, Georgia, Russell Brooks, Sr. and Stevie (Karen) Brooks of Macon, Georgia; stepmother, Mattie Brooks of Macon, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Three devoted friends, Toshiba Smith, Maurice Tharply and Gladys Mahone.
