Larry Dean Banks was born on September 21, 1960, in Culloden, Monroe County, Georgia, to the proud parents, Claude Banks, Sr., and Betty Jean Evans Banks. He grew up in Bibb County, Georgia, where he attended the public school system, forming the foundation of his strong work ethic and dedication to his community.
For over 20 years, Larry devoted himself to his profession as a self-employed landscaper. He found great joy in his work, transforming ordinary spaces into extraordinary havens. His clients admired not only his skill but also the genuine care and pride he took in his craft.
Larry's greatest joy was his family. Although he was never married, on April 30, 1980, he was blessed with the birth of his beloved daughter, Nekita Hyde. The bond between Larry and Nekita was unbreakable; he took immense pride in her accomplishments and cherished the time they spent together.
Larry's heart was as big as his presence. His humor, wisdom, and generosity made him a cherished friend and family member. He was deeply loved by all who knew him, and his absence leaves an irreplaceable void.
On Friday, December 27, 2024, Larry was called home to be with the Lord after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Banks, Sr., and Betty Jean Evans Banks; his sister, Gloria Stroud; and his nephew, Joshua Stroud.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory a devoted friend, Chiquita Maxwell of Macon, Georgia; his daughter, Nekita Hyde; son-in-law, Terrence Hyde; granddaughters, JaNya Jenkins and Jada Hyde; great-granddaughter, Omi Carter; his siblings, Claude Banks, Jr., Etta Brooks, Claudette Harper, Allen (Abertina) Banks, and Arsonja (Larry Clark, Jr.) Foster, all of Macon, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
