Kemo Vanshan Grant was born on January 18, 1980, in Macon, Georgia, 1o the late Jacqueline Tillman Kidd and Bobby Vernon Grant. He was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Kemo departed this life on April 16, 2026.
Kemo was a proud graduate of Westside High School in the Bibb County School District. He later continued his education at Central Georgia Technical College in Macon, where he studied Computer Technology. Known for his natural talent and passion for all thing's tech, he was the go to person for anyone in need of help or guidance. Kemo was employed as a forklift operator at the Home Depot Warehouse, where he worked faithfully until his untimely passing-
Kemo deeply cherished his son, Prince. Together, they shared countless special moments—playing basketball, cutting grass, enjoying video games, doing pushups, trying new foods, watching movies, cleaning their tennis shoes, and even dressing alike. They laughed over stories about Prince's little girlfriends, worked side by side on school assignments and small home projects, listened to old rap and R&B classics, and often ended their days napping together in Kemo's bed. Of all their memories, Prince's favorite was simply playing basketball with his dad.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving son, Prince Kemo Grant, and Prince's mother, Africa Qur'an Smart, both of Macon, Georgia; brothers, Jeffrey Taylor, Si: (Tracey) of Snow Hill, Maryland, and Marcus Grant (Angela) of Starkville, Mississippi; stepmother, Martha Grant of Macon, Georgia; stepsister, Monica West of Macon, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Taylor, Jr: (Nicole) of Alameda, California, Heather Ricks Taylor of Washington, D.C., Kendra Grant (Alesia) of Fontana, California, Deane Taylor and Justin Taylor, both of Snow Hill. Maryland, Marcus Grant I of Starkville, Mississippi, Kayla Grant of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Donovan Taylor of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Ithalee Taylor of Alameda, California, and Story Ricks Taylor of Washington, D.C.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his aunts, Brenda Parker of Macon Georgia, and Shirley Williams (Freddie) of Moultrie, Georgia; uncles,
Charles G. Lucas (Giwendolyn) and Jesse Evans, both of Macon, Georgia, his devoted friend, William Markeith Adams; and a host of relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
