Judy Faye “Moon” Ross, age 64, peacefully passed away on March 8, 2026. Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Judy was born in Macon, Georgia, on March 12, 1961, to Clethia “Pete” Williams and Milton (Carriebell)Goolsby. She was raised in Atlanta and Juliette, Georgia, and graduated from Smith High School with the Class of 1978. Judy was known for her strength, determination, and caring spirit—qualities that remained with her throughout her life.
She was a hardworking and dedicated woman who took great pride in providing for her family. Over the years, Judy worked for Masterack, Bassett Furniture, and the Medical Center. Her most cherished position was with the City of Perry, where she proudly served the community. Judy truly loved her work there and remained employed with the City of Perry until the time of her passing.
Above all else, Judy loved her family deeply. She was a proud and devoted mother of three daughters and found great joy in watching her family grow. She was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Gradeshia “Graddie” Stephens; her mother, Clethia “Pete” Williams; her father, Milton (Carriebell) Goolsby; her sisters, Jacqueline “Twinkie” Williams and Carlene “Vikki” Williams; and her brother, Devereaux “Man” Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Patrick Ross; her daughters, Octavis (Donny) Pearson and Johnitia Goolsby; her sisters, Yvonne “Bone” Williams, Yvette “Poochie” Williams, and Shirley Ann Patterson; her brothers, Rufus Williams, Eric Goolsby and Fred (Dot) King; and her devoted best friend and sister in heart, Vera Burgio. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Tykwan Goolsby, Jy’Neeshia (Aqualo)Threatt, Tyneesia (Phillip) Moog, Leiayshia Wilson, Suaryah Sampson, Da’Nazjah Stephens, Charles Goolsby, NaKeliah Crane, and Dakari Pearson.
She was also blessed with five cherished great-grandchildren, Honysti Sampson, Rylan Carr, Daily-Rhae Ross, Phillip Moog Jr., and Zha’Novia Goolsby, along with many other relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Judy will always be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, and the joy she brought to those around her. She had a special way of making people feel welcomed and loved, and her presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
“Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.”
