Joshua “Josh” Stanley was born on January 26, 1955, in Macon, Georgia to the parentage of the late Reverend Raiford E. and Martha Stanley.
On November 1, 2025, the Lord called for the end of Josh’s journey from this life into His bosom of rest. Josh spent his early childhood growing up in the Unionville community. At a young age, he joined Unionville Missionary Baptist Church attending regularly with his parents and siblings until declining health prevented him from continuing. He received his education in the Bibb County Public School System and was quite an intelligent learner.
Our beloved Josh is best remembered for being a loving and supportive son and brother. Having qualities of entrepreneurship, Josh worked hard to achieve his goals for his wants and needs, and he gave freely to his parents. On various occasions, when able, Josh especially enjoyed family gatherings.
Josh was also preceded in death by his brother, Atty Raiford Stanley, Jr., and sister, Ms. Lavina C. Stanley. He will be deeply missed and he leaves to cherish his memories to his brothers and sisters, Mrs. Mattie Aaron, Mr. Billy L. Stanley, Mrs. Rebecca (Minister LeRoy) Sampson, Ms. Wadee’ah Saleem, Dr. Betty J. Williams, Mr. Zebedee Stanley, Co-Pastor Dora (Pastor James Jr.) Collins, Mr. Alonzo (Gretchen) Rasheed, Mr. Tropanion (Sandra) Stanley, Mr. Marvin Stanley; sisters-in-law, Ms. Beverly Stanley, Mrs. Gloria Stanley and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
We thank God for Josh’s life. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all he touched.
We celebrate him with love, gratitude and peace. Rest in peace our beloved Josh, you will always be remembered.
