Ms. Josephine Lamar Peavy was born on February 22, 1939, in Perry, Georgia, to the late Essie Lee Richardson and Henry Davis. She received her formal education through the Houston County School System. She provided cleaning services to several clients and built lasting relationships over more than 20 years in the cleaning service industry.
On Friday, April 17, 2026, Ms. Josephine peacefully transitioned from home, surrounded by her loving family.
Ms. Josephine was preceded in death by her loving children Stephanie Peavy, Gregory Peavy, and Alakisha Walker; her loving brothers Walter Lee Richardson, and Henry Davis Jr.
Ms. Josephine leaves to cherish her precious memories: her sons Nicholas (Juanata) Peavy, and Gary Peavy; her beloved grandchildren Nakesia Collins, Antwan Goodwin, Jarrette Goodwin, Demorio Ferguson, Twana Goodwin, Antonio Marshall, Spanyata Hightower, Tavory Peavy, Terrell Jackson, Jerrell Jackson, Nicholas Peavy, and Nicole Peavy; an abundance of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; along with cousins, nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends. She also leaves to cherish her memory her loving siblings: Alice Mae Floyd and Dorothy Warren.
Ms. Josephine lived a life that reflected service, strength, and surrender to God. Her legacy is not only found in her years, but in the generations she shaped, the lives she touched, and the faith she passed down.
