Joseph Eugene Willis, affectionately known as Snook, was born on January 11, 1944, to the parentage of Mr. Jim Willis and Mrs. Willie Mae Willis. He was a longtime member of Duresville A.M.E Church. He went on to graduate from Peter G. Appling High School in 1963.

An industrious individual, Joseph went on to work for Macon Water Authority (MWA) for fifteen years before retiring in 2000. Not being the type to sit for too long, Joseph began another career at Idle Hour Country Club. On May 10, 2004, Joseph scored a rare hole-in-one on hole #8 at Idle Hour Country Club. Joseph retired from Idle Hour in 2010.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Martha V. Willis on July 4, 2021.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Deric E. Willis; daughter-in-law, Stacey Willis; grandsons, Jalen T. Willis, Omerion D.
Willis and Azavian Z. Willis; sister, Shirley Nelson; nieces, Cynthia Mason, Sharon Nelson and Paula Nelson all of Macon, Georgia and a host of great nieces and nephews that love him dearly.
