Mrs. Johnnie Mae Stafford-Dawkins April19,1943 - May 7, 2026
Mrs. Johnnie Mae Stafford-Dowkins was born on April 19, 1943, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Sgr. Johnnie Jones and Mother Catherine Stubbs Jones, She lived a life rooted in faith, service, and a deep commitment to education A firm believer in the value of learning, Johnnie Mae pursued, her education with determination and went on to dedicate many years of service lo the Bibb County School System, where she was employed until her retirement. Her work left a lasting impact on the students and colleagues she encountered along the way. Beyond her professional life, she was a devoted community activist who cared deeply about uplifting others. She was a faithful member of St. Paul AME Church, where she served diligently when her health allowed. She also found joy in music and loved ploying the piano,a gift she shared with those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings. Sylvester Jones. Terry Mourice Jones, und Linda Gay Jones; and her nephew. Ronald Jermaine Jones.
Johnnie Mae leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted doughter, Pamela Denise Stafford-Taylor; two beloved grandchildren, Roger Taylor, and Gabrielle Russell; her sister, Patricio Ann (Jay) Denson; her loving nephew. Gerald Maurice Tumbling; Niece, April Jones-Rouse: seven great-grandchildren; and a host of loving cousins, church family, and friends. Her legury of love, strength, faith, and dedication to education will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
