JOHN "JP" PIPKINS was born January 15, 1951, in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia to the parentage Mark Pipkins and Sallie Bell Pipkins.

John accepted Christ at an early age.

He was educated in the Bibb County School System and was a graduate of Central High School.

John was a very diligent worker. He worked in many compacities. He started at Mercer as a full-time custodian at Mercer University in 1971. In 1973, John was hired at Borden Dairy Company as a Production Supervisor for eighteen (18) years and worked part-time at Bibb Mill in the late seventies.  In October of 1989, John was hired at Brown and Williamson Tabacco Company in the Shipping Department where he retired after seventeen (17) years.

John was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, the former Cynthia Houston on November 17, 1976.  Their marriage was filled with love and laughter. This union produced two children. Together they raised five children.

John's hobbies included rebuilding and repairing cars, for which he was well known. He had so much passion for the work he did. He loved the opportunity of helping someone in resolving an issue or repairing their vehicle. John met so many friends from his knowledge and skills of automotives.
