Jimmy Spivey, Jr. was born in Macon, Georgia on February 9, 1953 to the parentage of the late Elsie Robinson Ellis and Jimmy Spivey, Sr. He attended the public school system in Bibb county, Georgia. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Beulah Baptist Church.
Jimmy was joined in Holy Matrimony on February 28, 1998 to his wife, Phoebe Spivey for twenty-five years until his death. She was a devoted wife. Jimmy held several jobs but mostly enjoyed cooking. He worked at Jeaneane’s at Pinebrook until his health failed. He enjoyed eating and boy could he eat. He also enjoyed being a prankster and was a protective big brother to his younger siblings.
He enjoyed talking and meeting new people; mostly he would listen and smile often while you were talking. He loved listening to music, especially gospel music.
He loved the LORD, his wife, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers and other family members with all his heart.
He departed this life after a long illness on Monday evening, September 4, 2023 at 7:00 PM.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Mrs. Phoebe Spivey; five children, his only daughter, Mrs. Tameki (Dana) Thomas of Macon, Georgia; sons, Jimmy Spivey III, Timothy Spivey and Jimmel Chivas Spivey all of Macon, Georgia; step son, Antonio A. (Tyson) Williams; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings, Cora Byrd and Adie Robinson of Macon, Georgia, Georgia Gary of Dothan, Alabama and Christine Brown of Macon, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
