Jewel Lee Falling passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023, at the age of 83. She was born August 11, 1940, in Marshallville, Georgia to the late R. J. McGhee and Julia Mae McGhee. Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Falling, Sr.,and her youngest daughter, Melandy Antoinette Jones (Arthur).
She was a kind and loving woman who loved family, friends, and everyone she met. She was very family oriented and always made time for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jewel was a very sociable woman who never met a stanger. She was affectionately known as Grandam, Mama, Jewel Lee, and Mother Falling to many who loved her. One of her favorite sayings was, "Just do what needs to be done at hand." Jewel dedicated most of her life in the medical field helping others. She enjoyed spending girl time with her girls, sharing real life situations with her boys, filling her grandchildren and great grandchildren with her everyday wisdom, and spending time with family and friends.
Jewel was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin, auntie, friend, and associate.
Jewel leaves to cherish her memories, eight loving-children, Chris McGhee, Lara (Michael) Carter, Theodore Talton, Felecia (Robbie)Dickey, Tara (Rick) Douglas, Walter (Glinda) Falling, Jr., Pierre (Rayshonda) Falling, and Maurice (Nadeah) Falling; three sisters, Florence JOnes (precededin death), Anne McGhee (Clifford) Jordan, and Cynthia Keen; four devoted sister-in-laws, Jesse McGhee, Earnestine McGhee, MAry Falling (precededin death), and Loisteen Mann ( preceded in death ); nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very devoted church family.
