Jessie James Wells was born on May 26, 1952 in Mcintyre, Ceorgia to the parentage of Pauline Butler, and the late James Henry Jackson. At the age of twelve
(12), along with his mother and siblings, he relocated to New Jersey. He attending public school and later enlisted in the army. Once out of the military, he worked in the construction field.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Henry Jackson, five of his siblings; Leo Davis, John Butler, Willene Veal, Anneal Wells, an Ann Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother Pauline Butler (Macon, Ga), two daughter LaQuanda Gettis, LaShonda Bray, and one son Jeffrey Grayer all of New Jersey. Siblings: four sisters Betty Clark (Macon, GA), Dorothy Butler (NJ, Marcia Jackson (GA), Kimberly Jackson-Sims (GA); and six brothers, Roosevelt Butler (GA), Abraham Butler (NJ), Benjamin Butler (NJ), Michael Jackson (GA), Keith Jackson (CA), Tyrone Jackson (GA), and Tyrone Davis (CA).
