Jerome Hughes Obituary
Jerome was born to Florine Hughes and the late Solomon Hughes on May 16th, 1960. The Lord dispatched his angels and instructed them to bring his child home on February 2nd, 2024, to begin his eternal rest.
He graduated from Northeast High School in 1978. He was a loving husband to Charlayne Hughes and a proud and dedicated father and grandfather. He was energetic, optimistic, caring, and one to always speak his mind. Jerome was a faithful believer in Christ and always believed in helping others. He was a former and faithful member of Saint Paul AME and Overcoming Fellowship.
Jerome loved spending time with his grandkids, traveling, and gardening. He found pleasure in raising chickens and spending time with his family. He enjoyed fellowshipping with his friends. He started his career as a DJ known as "Mr. Bone on the microphone". He later worked as a meat cutter and market manager at Piggly Wiggly. Jerome Hughes earned a national and international reputation for being one of the most prominent, hardest working, committed business leaders in the home-based, travel, and health industries. He was a dynamic speaker and motivator. He achieved record success and mentored others to become today's leaders. He later joined FutureNet Online, YTB Travel, and Evolve. He founded Healthy Place Botanicals and ZipAway Info.com. His success grew to limitless heights! Jerome continued to reinvent himself and always pulled himself back up, pushing on with excitement and optimism.
He was preceded in death by his father, the late Solomon Hughes; brother, Solomon Hughes, Jr. and his mother-in-law, the late Betty H. Thompson.
