On February 17, 1966 Jerald Lavan Lyons was born to Mr. and Mrs. George & Jacquelyn Lyons in Los Angeles, California. Jerald, also affectionately known as Bubba, named by his only sister Geraldine(Dinee) who preceded him in death. When they were toddlers she couldn't say brother, but Bubba. Jerald was the eldest of 8 children, 7 boys and 1 girl. Jerald accepted Christ at an early age, under the pastorship of his dad Pastor George Lyons.
He was raised in Inglewood, California in a loving home. In November 1985 when Bubba was 19 he welcomed a son Donte. Bubba was always so full of life, very comical as well as witty, always seeking knowledge, and he loved music, his favorite songs were You Are The Living Word by Fred Hammond & We Fall Down by Donnie McClurkin, R&B Knocks Me Off My Feet by Stevie Wonder & also Happy Days by Silk. In his early twenties Bubba was shot in the head, no one knows why, but he was blessed to survive and lived another 38 years.
On September 3, 1994 Jerald was blessed with a wife Danita and a son Cashton. In March 2000 they were blessed with their daughter Kourtney(Daddy/That Baby). Jerald worked as a mechanic at Riverside Ford for the 1st 10 years when we arrived here in Macon. Because of the gunshot wound and the bullet fragments still in his head which caused seizures later in life, he had to retire/disabled which was very hard for him to accept. Jerald loved studying The Word of GOD and could explain scripture so quickly/adequately, that was his Gift.
Jerald(Bubba) passed away on April 26, 2026 and leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Danita, 3 children Donte, Cashton and Kourtney, mom Jacquelyn, dad Pastor George Felicia) brothers Derrold, Christopher, Micah, Royal, David, Kyle, 8 grandchildren MacKenzie, Cashton Jr, Brayden, Olanie Rose. A host of inlaws, aunties, uncles, cousins, family and friends, whom he truly loved.
