Ms. Jenny Simmons Watson of Macon, Georgia was called home to glory on Sunday, August 17, 2025. She was born on September 9, 1958 in Macon, Georgia, the daughter of the late Earnestine Simmons and the late Robert L. Simmons, Sr.
Jenny was educated in the Bibb County Public School System. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1977. Determined to provide for her family, she was a dedicated hard worker who always maintained two jobs.
She was also a woman with a heart of gold, eager to lend a helping hand even if it meant giving you the shirt off her back. Ms. Watson would do so without thought or a question asked. She dedicated her life to serving in whatever way she could. Her heart's desire was that no one ever suffered, was in need, or lacked what they truly wanted.
She was a woman of virtue. Who spent her life helping the needy, giving to the poor, providing for her household, and making sure they had all they needed. Ms. Jenny's character exemplified hospitality, love, dedication, selflessness, kindness, honesty, integrity and determination. Although she was only one woman she played several roles in the lives of others. As a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend her commitment knew no end.
In the most befitting way she also loved angels; the symbol that signified who she was to those she encountered. An angel sent from above to help heal broken hearts and to shine light on every soul she met.
Ms. Jenny Simmons Watson was preceded in death by her son, Javares Simmons, Sr.; her brothers, Donnie Simmons, Robert Simmons, Jr., Gary Simmons, and Howard Simmons. As well as, two sisters, Dorothy Simmons and identical twin sister, Penny Simmons.
Jenny leaves to cherish in her memories her sons, Everette Simmons and Kerry Walker; and her adopted daughter, Shalonda Brown. Also, six grandchildren all from Macon, GA whom she lived for and cherished; Javares Simmons Jr., Devares Simmons, Destiny Simmons, Rayquez Simmons, Eric Simmons and Justice Gibson, and one great grandson, Cymere Colbert. She leaves three siblings, brother Lorenzo (Gwen) Simmons, sister Rayquel Simmons, and her sister-in-law and devoted friend, Brenda Chapman. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and sorrowing friends that will miss her dearly.
