Jennie Mae Bonner was born on April 8, 1933, to the parentage of the late Delphine Jackson Taylor and Clifford Castleberg in Sparta, Georgia.
Jennie Mae was educated in the Hancock County School system and spent a number of years working for the Burnham Family. She played a role in the rearing of the Burnham children and maintained contact with them throughout the years. Jennie Mae was a faithful member and a Deaconess of New Hope Baptist Church until her health declined.
Jennie Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Shelton Bonner, Jr.; her sons, Leonard Thomas, Larry Thomas, Sr. and Huwett Bonner and her siblings, Edward Jackson and Ann Lott.
She leaves to mourn her passing her four children, Gloria (Thomas) Jolly, Walter Bonner, Sr., Wilhelmina Jones and Shelton (Kenya) Bonner III; a devoted cousin, Elizabeth Pryor; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
