Jason Rashad Bradberry was born June 14, 2000 in Macon, Georgia to the parentage of Vanessa and Jimmy Bradberry.
He was educated at St. Peter Claver Catholic School and graduated from Windsor Academy, class of 2018. Jason was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed with the Macon-Bibb Fire Department in 2020 and later with the Houston County Fire Department in 2023.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Jason can attest to his sweet soul, positive attitude, and his willingness to always lend a helping hand. His radiant smile, joyful spirit, and warm endeavor lit up any room he entered. Jason loved his family and friends, playing and watching sports, weightlifting, and being a firefighter.
Jason’s genuine kindness and ability to connect with others created long-lasting friendships and touched numerous lives. He embraced the values of commitment, honor, courage, and integrity.
The tragic loss of Jason Bradberry is a reminder of how fragile life can be. If you are having trouble navigating life or struggling to find balance, seek help. No more silence.
On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, Jason Rashad Bradberry departed this earthly life. He was preceded in death by his papa, Lewis Cotton; aunt, Diane Hardnett and brother, Jimmy Bradberry, Jr.
Jason leaves to cherish his memories to his loving parents, Vanessa and Jimmy Bradberry of Macon, Georgia; sister, Brittany (Phillip) Jenkins of McDonough, Georgia; brother, Jimell Bradberry of Macon, Georgia; dog, Jax Bradberry of Macon, Georgia; uncle, Freddie Swint of Hephzibah, Georgia; grandmothers, Delores Spencer and Janice Cotton of Macon, Georgia; aunt, Tiffany (Damien) Smith of Philadelphia Pennsylvania; great aunt, Ida Thrash of Macon, Georgia; great uncle, Willie (Lizzie) Spencer of Macon, Georgia; devoted friends, Michael Lowe, Aundrea and Carolyn Maddox, LaSheika Hughes, Bernard Smith and Janice Jackson, Justin Hawthorne; a host of cousins, family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Jason’s legacy will continue to remind us to cherish every moment and make a positive impact within our community, just as he did during his all-too-short time with us. Jason Rashad Bradberry was truly one of-a-kind and a joy to know.
