God in His Infinite Wisdom called His Angel, Hinetha Elizabeth Irvin, 74, to rest on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Piedmont Macon Hospital She was born February 18, 1950, to the late Mother Esther White and Rev. De Jethro White, Sr. in Petersburg, Virginia.
Hinetha was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Irvin, Sr. and her parents, Esther White and Jethro White Sr. She was united in marriage to John B. Irvin Sr. ("Bruce") in Macon, Georgia, in March of 1989. Their marriage, which lasted 21 years, was blessed by the birth of two sons, John B. Irvin and Talmadge Q. Irvin.
Hinetha's life was marked by service and compassion. After graduating from Peabody High School in Petersburg, Virginia, in 1968, she worked at Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation. Later in her career, she found her true calling as a home health aide, offering comfort and support to families caring for aging loved ones. Her faith was also a cornerstone of her life; she was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at Zion Apostolic (Petersburg, VA) in 1976 under Bishop Samuel Wright Sr.
Hinetha had a beautiful voice and a deep love for music. She found solace and joy in singing, whether it was at church, at intimate family gatherings, or simply for her enjoyment.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her loving and devoted sons, John B.
Irvin, Jr. of Macon, Ga, Talmadge Q. Irvin (Kenya) of Atlanta, Ga.; siblings, Evangelist Yvonne Rogers of Petersburg, Va.; Jethro White Jr. (Alice) of Petersburg, Va; Cynthia Graves Stephens of Petersburg, Va; two grandchildren, Camryn Irvin and Noah Irvin; two nieces, Andrea Brown (Demetrius) and Jessica Randolph (Jarmel); two nephews Shawn Franklin, and Jeffrey White; two great aunts, Alvia Diggs and Otelia Burrow (Franklin), the siblings of her late husband, Ollie Daniels, Essie Harrison, Cassandra Irvin, Daniel Irvin, Sr, Verdistine Kemp, Kimberly Irvin Silas, who became cherished members of her own family. A host of great nieces and great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family graterally acknowledges the love and support of Patricia Taylor, Susan Barker, Florestine Billups, Leonia Moore, Rosa Williams, and Jessica Dumas kindness and compassion have been invaluable.
