As predestined by God, Hattie Mae Burke-Sands was born to the parentage of Coleman Dumas Sr and Beatrice Dumas on December 28, 1939 in Putnam County, Georgia. Hattie was the second oldest of her nine siblings. She attended M. M. Burdell Elementary of the Bibb County school system. She later received her GED from Dudley M Hughes vocational school.
At an early age, Hattie was united in marriage to the late Johnny L Burke Sr.. In this union was born Johnny L Burke Jr, Jerry L Burke and Jeffrey L Burke.
Hattie accepted Christ as Lord of her life and became a devoted member of The End Time Revival Tabernacle under the leadership of the late Coleman Dumas dr. In 2004, Hattie was again united in marriage to the loving and devoted Johnny L Sands(Nate), where she lovingly embraced four bonus children, Felicia Sands, Angela Feagin, Michael Sands, and the late Johnny D Sands. Together, Hattie and Johnny (Nate) enjoyed fishing.
Hattie was preceded in death by her father, Coleman Dumas Sr., mother, Beatrice Dumas, brothers, Curtis Campbell Sr., Coleman Dumas Jr., Freddie Dumas, Kenneth Dumas and two of her sons, Jerry and Jeffrey Burke Sr. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her husband, Johnny (Nate) Sands, a son, Johnny L Burke Jr., a goddaughter, Shauntallie Smith, three sisters, Betty R. Preston, Connie(James) Cotton, Geraldine Walker, and a host of* grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
