Harold James Watkins

Harold James Watkins, born on June 22, 1947, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Warren Watkins Sr and Lula Mae Watkins.

He departed this life on the morning of Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024, at Atrium Hospital. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

During his early years, Harold attended Unionville Elementary and later graduated from Ballard Hudson High School. Known for his strong work ethic, Harold began his professional journey at Tailor Iron before moving on to Bibb Steel, where he earned the respect of his colleagues through his dedication and perseverance. His hard work and commitment to excellence were values he carried throughout his life, serving as a role model for his family and friends.

Harold was deeply loved by his family, who cherished the time spent with him. He made it a priority to create special memories with his children and grandchildren, ensuring that every gathering was filled with love, laughter, and warmth.

Later in life, Harold embraced his faith and joined Clayton Temple Open Door Pentecostal Church at the age of 77. This spiritual journey brought him peace and a sense of purpose, and he became a cherished member of the congregation.

Harold leaves behind a loving family to honor his memory: his children, Tinika (Daniel), Sherrick (Jana), and James (Kiarra); fifteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; his brothers, Simon (Ruthie) Watkins, Sr. and Calvin (Willie Mae) Watkins, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Myrtis Watkins and Valeria Watkins. He will also be deeply missed by his devoted nieces, Geraldine Morgan, Shaniece, Aturah, Amiya, and Ashley Morgan, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends. Harold’s legacy of love, faith, and hard work will continue to inspire all who knew him. His absence will be felt profoundly, but his memory will forever remain a source of comfort and strength.
