Gloria Victoria Coleman, beloved daughter, sister, niece, wife, and mother, answered God’s call to eternal rest on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Atrium Navicent Medical Center in Macon, Georgia. Born on October 20, 1952, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Gloria was the cherished daughter of the late Boyd and Lula Francis. Gloria accepted Christ at an early age, shaping a life grounded in faith, service, and a deep love for others.
Gloria was educated in the Erie Public School system and graduated from Academy High School in 1972. Throughout her life, Gloria embraced many paths with dedication and excellence. Her professional journey included roles in banking; serving as a social worker for the Salvation Army; working as a buyer for Rich’s and Macy’s; and teaching as a substitute in the Macon Public Schools. Gloria proudly completed training at the Macon Police Academy and served on the Macon Police Force. Her commitment to justice and community continued through her work with Erie Northwestern Legal Services in Pennsylvania. Always eager to grow in her faith, Gloria attended Roberts University where she studied theology.
Gloria was known for her joyful spirit—always smiling, filled with charisma, and spreading light everywhere she went. She had a great sense of humor and a God-fearing heart. Even in her final days, Gloria kept her sense of humor, sharing jokes and lifting the hearts of those around her. She possessed a beautiful soul and a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, loved, and valued. Above all, Gloria truly loved the Lord and lived her life as a reflection of that love.
One of Gloria’s greatest accomplishments, and the role she treasured most, was being a devoted mother to her six children. Her love for them was deep, constant, and immeasurable, shaping the foundation of her life and legacy.
Ministry was Gloria’s lifelong calling. She served faithfully within the Apostolic church and embraced her mission with a servant’s heart. Gloria was deeply committed to outreach, housing and feeding the homeless, ministering to those in crisis, and extending compassion to anyone in need. She worked tirelessly with the International Prayer Ministry, praying with individuals and families, offering encouragement, and reminding others of God’s love and mercy. Gloria’s hands and heart were always open, and she believed that demonstrating God’s love through action was the truest form of ministry. She touched lives in alleyways, shelters, street corners, and sanctuaries alike, meeting people where they were and uplifting them with grace.
