On September 22, 1957, Gloria Ann Clarington Jefferson, affectionately known as Glo, was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Jimmy C. Clarington and Mrs. Mary Ann Clarington.
She was educated in the Bibb County public school system She attended G.W. Carver and graduated from THE Southwest High School in June of 1975, one of the largest graduating classes at the time. She also furthered her education in health care in Macon, Georgia.
Gloria loved to fellowship with her family and friends. She was the life of the party and brought a special light into every room. She was truly loved by many and a friend to all. Gloria loved to travel, she enjoyed cooking, especially on the grill, and she was her own fashionista!
She loved to worship and fellowship at Ash Street COGIC as she did starting at a young age.
In 1999, she traveled to Texas to be with family, where she met her husband and wed on May 23, 2001 until this present time. Gloria and Timothy spent many years together and loved one another dearly.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; her son, Terrel Clarington; her sister, Phyllis Clarington Gordon; brothers, David (Wayne) and Michael Clarington and cousin, Jim Freeman.
Gloria is survived by her sister, Barbara (Ernest) Garland of Valdosta, Georgia; her children, Shemeka, Christie, Jarvis Clarington and Janay Jefferson; two loving nieces, Eboni and Nikosha Clarington; her nephews, Scherrique and Bryant Gordon of Killeen, Texas and Michael Ponder, Cedric and Christopher Johnson, along with other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her devoted cousins, Betty Jean Freeman, James (Maddie) Freeman; aunts, Ms. Lavada Barnes and Faye Clarington and her grandchildren, Braxton, Jurnee, Trelan, Alex Michael, Tashyra, Sophia, Jacob, and Thomas; great grandchildren, Ky’lei, Ky’ler, and Hukari; a host of family, dear friends and cherished loved ones.
